Ketchum Place is a short street located on the edge of Allentown and the Richmond District and several homeowners on the street have been improving their properties during the last few years. The owners of this house contacted us in May to complete their effort in removing asbestos siding from the exterior and to see if we could restore the original clapboard and cedar shake.
Removing the remaining asbestos siding was easy but the original siding was a bit more difficult. We replaced all the broken and rotted clapboard and shake, then scraped and sanded the old flaking paint that had been under the asbestos siding for years.
Oil priming 100 percent of the old siding was necessary. We then painted the exterior with Benjamin Moore Glow in 3 colors.
